Portland, Oregon
We worked with GBD Architects on the elevator lobby glass for two residential towers in the south waterfront district in Portland, Oregon. The west building glass has a botanical theme where an abstract pattern of glass reeds were sand carved onto approximately 2’ x 8’ panels. The east building has a water theme, with an abstract design of rain drops hitting the river. All panels were sand-carved using a free-hand technique. The curvy vertical edge was hand-shaped and polished. The panels are edge lit, using gel films on the bulbs to give coloration to the glass panels.
